Note:
Some companies choose to base their improvement on their students best post-class SAT score. ETS statistics report that you should expect to improve 30-50 points per year if you do no test preparation whatsoever. Since most students take the PSAT in their sophomore year, much improvement is expected. This is not surprising, given your increased familiarity with the test, your seasoned knowledge of vocabulary (crucial to improving performance on the verbal half of the test), and your honed math skills. We base our score improvement on the first score reported to us. We expect that by "cherry picking" the best test score (which might be a year later) other companies are inflating their score improvement reports.
